Kingfisher Postcard

Postcard Advertising Kingfisher, Oklahoma - about 1910

This early Kingfisher postcard shows the Richard Pappe house (top right) and other prominent residences in the town, including Governor Sea's mansion (top left), the Wickmiller house (bottom right), and the Brownlee house (bottom left).

We believe that Richard Pappe's son, Arthur Pappe, was a key player in building the Pappe house. Art was a carpenter and would have been 20 years old when construction of the house began. A book of 100 house plans that belonged to Art Pappe and was passed to his son, Max Pappe, includes a floor plan that was virtually identical to the Richard Pappe house.
