Augusta Clara Pappe - about 1888 This photo shows Augusta Clara Pappe (1887-?) at about 12 to 18 months old. The dimensions, paper, photographer marks and age of the photo are the identical to the photo of her brother, Carl Arthur Pappe (1883-1931) that was taken in 1888. The back of the photo reveals information about the photographer. The address for the Eulenstein photo studio is given as Zeitzer-Str. 30, Haus vor dem Tivoli (house in front of the Tivoli), Leipzig. Zeitzer (renamed Karl-Leibknecht Str. in 1939) is located south of the Leipzig city center (Zentrum). The Tivoli was once the largest beer hall in Germany, with 5000 seats*. Sometime between 1883 and 1886 the Karl Pappe family moved to Dufor Strasse 10, Leipzig, which is only a few blocks from the Eulenstein photo studio. The civil record of Augusta's birth lists the Dufor Str address.
