Stanley Joseph Eischeid 1917-1982

The rite of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18 at the St. Patrick's Church, Bayard, with Rev. Father Richard Bergman officiating. Interment was in the Highland Cemetery, Highland Township, Guthrie County, Iowa.

Stanley, son of George and Matilda Obertz Eischeid, was born October 16, 1917, in Carroll County, Iowa. He lived near Halbur and attended St. Augustine's School in Halbur. He was united in marriage with Alvina Boes on November 7, 1939, at St. Bernard's Church, Breda. After their marriage, they moved to the Bayard area where he engaged in farming and for the past 12 years operated a dragline.

Stanley had been retired for about a year and has been in failing health for about two months. He died on Wednesday, September 15, 1982, at University Hospital, Iowa City. He was 64 years, 10 months and 29 days of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Patricia in infancy in 1949, two brothers, George and Walter.

He is survived by his wife, Alvina, Bayard; five children: James, and wife Jeanette of Bayard, Richard and wife Judy of Bettendorf, Kathleen Arrowsmith, San Jose, CA, Janice McGill and husband Steve of San Bernadino, CA, Steven Eischeid of Coon Rapids; six grandchildren; one brother, Jerry of Bayard; three sisters, Mrs. Don (Aurila) Parr of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. John (Mercedas) Schloss of Strawberry Point and Mrs. Ray (Pearl) Wittenmeyer of Cedar Rapids; and one sister-in-law, Helen Eischeid, Halbur.
