CARROLL—Mass of the Christian burial for Ronald L. Schulte of Carroll will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll.

Mr. Schulte, 89, died Tuesday morning, April 25, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.

The Revs. Timothy Schott, Lawrence McCarty and John Thomas will concelebrate the Mass. Lector will be Mr. Schulte's son, Ralph Schulte. Gift Bearers will be daughters: Janet Baumhover, Lois Hinners, Margy Schulte, Annette Haberl and Kathy Stein. Christian Symbols will be placed by sons: Ralph Schulte, Leon Schulte, Myron Schulte, Joseph Schulte and Gary Schulte. Servers will be Chris Schulte, Anthony Pottebaum, and Nick Fitzsimmons. Soloists will be Rachel and Sara Hinners.

Casket Bearers will be Doug Baumhover, John Hinners, Scott Schulte, Michael Schulte, Eric Schulte, Chris McConville, Bret Schulte, Greg Haberl, Steven Schulte and Alex Stein.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Ann Cemetery in Vail.

Visitation starts at 2:30 and a rosary will be prayed at 3 Thursday afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. St. Lawrence Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7 Thursday night at the funeral home.

A son of Leo and Catherine (Boes) Schulte, he was born May 22, 1916, at Breda, spent his younger years in the community and attended St. Bernard School.

He and Amelia Huegerich were married Nov. 14, 1939, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Carmel with the Rev. B. Loeffelholz officiating.

The Schultes farmed in the Breda area until 1947, when they moved to the farm near Westside. They retired in 1980 and moved to Carroll.

Mr. Schulte was a member of St. Lawrence Parish. He enjoyed music, especially playing the harmonica, and he possessed mechanical and electrical talents.

Survivors include 10 children: Janet Baumhover and her husband Leonard of Audubon, Lois Hinners and her husband Jack of Halbur, Ralph Schulte and his wife Becky of Fort Dodge, Leon Schulte and his wife Nancy of Westside, Myron Schulte of Auburn, Margy Schulte of Des Moines, Joseph Schulte and his wife Patty of Omaha, Neb., Annette Haberl and her husband Ed of Carroll, Gary Schulte and his wife Mary Ann of Westside and Kathy Stein and her husband Lee of Carroll; 43 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herb Schulte, and his wife, Marlys, of Des Moines; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Joan Schulte of Carroll, Lawrence Huegerich of Breda, Leo and Mar-garet Huegerich of Carroll and Frances Sander of Carroll.

Mr. Schulte was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amelia, in March 1983; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Schulte; three brothers: Edgar, Urban and Donald Schulte; and sister, Hilaria Pick.
