Former Carroll Man Found Dead Of Bullet Wound

Joseph Steinkamp of Storm Lake, formerly of Carroll, died early Wednesday of a bullet wound at his farm two and one-half miles northeast of Storm Lake. He was about 37 years old.

Mrs. Steinkamp told Coroner J. J. Taylor her husband arose at 1:30 a. m. and went into the yard. When she heard a shotgun report she went outside and found him dying. Coroner Taylor said an inquest would he held today.

Relatives here have been informed that funeral services are to be at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Catholic church in Storm Lake. Burial will be at Breda.

The Steinkamp family formerly lived, on farms west and south of Carroll. They resided about two miles south of Carroll on highway 71 before moving to Fonda a few years ago. After a year's residence at Fonda they moved to Storm Lake.

Mr. Steinkamp is survived by his wife, who was Josephine Thobe of Mt. Carmel before her marriage, a daughter; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Steinkamp of Breda, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Joe Kohorst, Arcadia; Tony Steinkamp, west of Carroll; Fred Steinkamp, Lidderdale; Mrs. Andrew Thobe and Mrs. Henry Kramer, Mt. Carmel; Walter Steinkamp, Breda; Leonard Steinkamp of Breda, recently returned from overseas duty with the army, and Mrs. Hilbert Eischeid, Halbur.
